Rúbrica

Rúbrica
1)      Which elements does the rubric introduce in the learning process?
The rubric is a way to evaluate the knowledge acquired by pupils, as well it is assessment and auto-evaluation. Rubric is ideal to begin to be used at primary education because children need to manage their own learning. It would be ideal that each student could be aware of his/her own process of learning. In this ways they know in which point are them and they can begin from that point to reflect  on what they need to progress and how they are going to do it The rubric could be an essential tool to help teachers to observe the pupil’s improvement. We think that all the teaching and learning process must contain a rubric because in addition to evaluate pupils and teacher it needs evaluate their own process.
2)      How does it help the students?
It helps like guidelines cause with rubrics they can know specially their mistakes and how to correct it.  It offers so many possibilities like for example self – evaluation or take in account how to discover other ways for their development. It is so useful to make better children’s responsibilities and it can help them to be more organize in their way of working.

3)      Why is it good for the teacher?
Because it’s a better way to evaluate and it makes his work easier. Maybe it can help the teacher to change  his methodology  to another one  that can take into account pupils’ responsibilities in their learning process and it might be more satisfactory than the other one.

4)      Can you think of advantages and disadvantages?
These are the rubric’s advantages as assessment:
-              Students are able to assess their own work, giving them more control on their learning process.
-              Rubrics motivate students to get the specified standards.
-              They are quite flexible tools: we can use them in many different contexts and grades.
-              We can use them to assess a wide range of abilities.
-              They help students to focus their work in a specific way.
-              Rubrics give detailed feedback to students.
-              They force the teacher to specify the criteria.

However, we can find in rubrics the following disadvantages:
-              They can be complex to produce.
-              They require much more time from the teacher.
-              They can restrict student’s skills if they feel that they have to limit themselves strictly to the rubric instead of taking initiatives to explore.

Educaline

Educaline

Nowadays we can find thousands of resources to work in class, even in several editorials, as we see in the following video, interactive materials are prepared in Spanish and English, as in the case of the slides we see of science. But the most interesting thing is not just to be in English, but the fact of using the language in contents aren’t strictly grammatical, and take the kids to learn vocabulary related with the science.

This method is different to conventional work, and we are developing various skills and objectives simultaneously. We work the subject of science, we work the foreign language and the digital competence, that we think helps children develop much more and in an entertainment and fun way.

Besides in each unit we can complete the explanation with a video or a specific activity that meets your doubts caused by the foreign language.

We feel really excited and motivated because it is very important for us to meet many resources in our first search like English primary´s teachers. Moreover we have got the lucky that these resources are in a digital support and children can enjoy much more.
